Music theory is largely inaccessible outside of a formal classroom setting. Even there, it’s often overwhelming to learn about all the rules which make music. However, these rules were born out of musicians playing with sound to find what makes music so pleasing to the ear. There’s a clear logic within it, a logic which gives structure to almost all of the songs we hear today.

Chord Companion is a web program designed to make harmonic chord progressions accessible to even the most beginner musicians. It uses music theory to guide the user through the process of making chord progressions while also explaining the theory behind these concepts.
